After Kennedy dropped out of the race for President, I have mostly been silent about the matter. I trusted Kennedy and thought he would be a good President. I didn’t trust Trump or the Democratic Party and its new figurehead.
I have come to view both major political parties as fundamentally authoritarian. The Democrats represent institutional and bureaucratic authoritarianism. One that is largely indifferent to who holds official political power, so long as they are a reliable partner to the institutions, agencies, and corporations that hold political, economic, and military power.
The Republican Party under Donald Trump, on the other-hand, has come to represent good old-fashioned anti-establishment strongman authoritarianism. Where one charismatic leader has come to symbolize all the hopes and fears of an entire nation.
As an independent, I did not vote this election cycle. I simply couldn’t bring myself to do it. Some will say this is cowardice, or an abdication of my civic responsibility. Perhaps it was, but the fact remains, I couldn’t force myself to do it. I couldn’t discern the lesser evil, and I would prefer not to vote for evil anyway.
My failure to vote was a vote of no confidence in the system that governs us and the options it produced.
I am pro-humanity, pro-Gaia, and pro-liberty. None of the options available satisfactorily aligned with my values.
I understand why Kennedy threw his lot in with Trump. He made a practical and difficult decision. He did what he thought was necessary to maximize his voice for the good of all. I pray his bet pays off and that he and other anti-establishment pro-humanity forces within the Trump campaign are able to steer Trump’s Presidency toward positive transformation for our country.
But the fact remains that Trump is an unreliable partner at best. He makes alliances that benefit him at the moment with ease, because as soon as the alliance stops serving him, he will abandon it. Every political and business deal he has ever made reveals the same pattern. A good businessman, but not someone you want to do a second deal with.
Some friends believe surviving the assassination attempt changed him. Maybe it did. Maybe he had a Road to Damascus conversion and is now all in for the good of all. I believe it is more likely that it galvanized his resolve to fight and sharpened his focus as to who he is fighting.
Established power will kill to protect itself and its agenda. Trump is an unreliable and dangerous ally from their perspective - for good reason.
In the transactional politics of Trump, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. So, of course, he accepted the endorsement of Kennedy and other disaffected anti-establishment moderate and progressive voices.
But the Trump coalition comprises many anti-establishment voices, many of which are the most regressive, violent, anti-human, anti-Gaia, and anti-liberty in our country.
Established power is corrupt, self-serving, and possessed by an insatiable desire for power, control, and surveillance over the populace. It blots out the brightest lights and highest possibilities for our nation, while at the same time suppressing the most violent and self-destructive impulses within our society.
If it has an agenda, it is to preserve a dysfunctional status quo that seeks to avoid self-destruction while denying humanity the opportunity to truly thrive.
We are in solar maximum. These are not times of tranquility. They are times of chaotic upheaval, when that which has been hidden is revealed. This alone made me think a Trump presidency was inevitable. The consequences of that are yet to be seen.
I will continue to pray for our leaders, both the seen and unseen. I will pray that their actions are informed by wisdom and love, and a deep concern for the good of all. I will also pray that Trump listens to the better angels of his nature, and to voices like Kennedy.
I genuinely hope this ends up being the greatest presidency ever. That would have been my hope no matter who won. That should be everyone’s hope and prayer, even if your side didn’t win, or if like me, you have lost faith in the entire process by which leadership is selected.
RAMAKA KRIYA
At the behest of my lineage I have started teaching yoga through the vehicle of Ramaka Kriya, which literally translates to "Rama's Spirit in Action." Ramaka Kriya is a path of self and god realization dedicated to restoring Dharma through the use of effective spiritual practices and the righteous use of energy.
It is universalist in the sense that it honors the perennial wisdom tradition and seeks ever greater integrity with truth. While truth is an endless exploration, the key pillars of the tradition are based in mystical Christianity, Hinduism, and indigenous Earth based spirituality.
SATSANGS
I have begun traveling and teaching Ramaka Kriya to raise funds for Ramaka Temple. If you would like to sponsor an event please reach out.

Well put! I voted for Cornell West - at least with him I could vote in good conscience.
I very much agree with your perspective, and I didn’t vote as well for basically the same reasons you stated here. Nevertheless, I hold the same prayer and hope that Trump will listen to wisdom, and make choices that serve the highest good of all. I am incredibly disheartened by the chaos and fear of the media, and feel that a great illusion of fear has been cast over the populous, some of it valid, yes, while some seems disproportionate to reality. Thanks for writing about this, and having the courage to state your truth. 🙏
